Hello! I’m Julia
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Therapist, LCSW, LAC
Building a strong alliance with an accepting, positive and energetic therapist can make a big difference during the promising yet vulnerable adolescent years.
I partner with teens and their families in discovering how the disappointments, conflicts and setbacks they face during this period can be opportunities to get back on track and take life to the next level.
Understanding that affordability and accessibility are important factors in your choice of a therapist, I tailor my sessions to individual and family needs. By offering both teletherapy and in-person sessions, I am available to work with individuals and families throughout the state of Colorado, in the Denver Metro area and beyond.

How I can help you
For Adolescents & Young Adults
“Choose-your-own-adventures” were my favorite kind of books growing up. I enjoyed exploring my options and being able to pick what happened next. As a counselor, I see my role as helping young people understand and explore so they are able to choose the best path forward.
The world is opening to you in a different way as you become a young adult. Your potential is unlimited. We can work together to discover how the disappointments, conflicts and setbacks you’ve experienced can become opportunities for you to find your footing, and even level up your game in the adventure series that is your life.
Having an accepting, positive and energetic guide along your journey doesn’t hurt either. So let’s start writing the next chapter together!
For Parents & Families
These are the years everyone warned you about.
You successfully navigated the terrible twos but now you’re back in it. The teen years. You knew what was coming – you’ve been preparing yourself for it. And even so, sometimes you wonder if it should be this hard.
During these years, parenting can be frustrating, confusing, anxiety-filled, discouraging and exhausting. You worry about your child’s choices and their safety.
Instead of sharing quality time and affection with your teen, you’re putting your energy toward conflicts about behavior, rules and friends. You don’t know whether your child is just acting like a teenager or if he or she is struggling with something more serious.
I have extensive experience partnering with parents who are dealing with similar concerns. I can support you in moving away from the struggle toward embracing what can be one of the most meaningful phases of your parenting journey. Together, we can forge a path forward with your child that will allow you to open channels of communication and build strong family bonds that will last through your child’s emerging adulthood and beyond.
For Professionals
Ready to begin or expand your therapy career?
In addition to my work with adolescents and their families, I can provide affordable consultation, supervision or training for you or your agency both in-person and via live video sessions.
I specialize in the areas of:
- Motivational Interviewing – By teaming up with Theory to Action, an organization of experts who are members of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, I offer tailored support and methods to guarantee that you capture the full benefits of implementing MI.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – As a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), I train in the most up-to-date methods for this psychological intervention, which I use in my own practice.
- Adolescent substance use – Integrated substance abuse treatment for adolescents has been the focus of my work for 16 years. In my sessions with mental health professionals, I introduce third-wave Cognitive Behavioral Therapies that can be employed when working with adolescents to integrate substance use into behavioral health interventions. I also train in the components of impACT, an intervention I helped develop with a group of nationally-respected experts at Denver Health. ImpACT integrates MI, ACT and contingency management into one flexible treatment approach.
I am available to consult on designing training plans tailor-made to you or your agency’s needs, using telehealth tools or in person.
